Hard to say here are a couple of facts
1. When Ellen was with Anne Haiche she seemed to be the more macho of the two (the giver not the taker)
2. Mellissa Ethridge just went through chemo. so when Ellen punches her her hair wont get in the way. (so her ring vision will be better). However Ellen has short hair as well.
3. If it was Mixed martial arts instead of boxing I think Mellissa would have a better ground game and would be able to submit Ellen faster.
4. To throw a wrench in the fight I think Mellisa would have to chose Rosie O'donnel as her ringside coach. After three rounds of Ellen pummelling Mellisa Rosie would rush the ring and sit on Ellen, thus knocking out Ellen and allowing Mellisa to win by default.
So my answer is Mellisa, by default

The answers you have gotten are toooo funny!
I happen to like both of these gals and it is a hard choise between the two but for funs sake I'll go with Melissa.
I have seen her perform on stage and she has some real fast cool moves, while Ellen can dance and get belly laughs out of folks it would not translate to a boxing ring.
Melissa is also more butchy then Ellen who I would call a very soft butch.

Ellen is very quick, whereas Etheridge is tough. It would depend on the time, because Melissa just finished Chemo she might be weaker than usual. However, it is known that these two Amazing women are very good friends, therefore they would probably shake hands mid-ring and then go jump on the anti-gay protesters that would invariably be ring-side and kick the living bejeezes out of them....then they would have a jam/ dance session to party!!! (in a perfect world....)

Melissa! Hell she has a smokers voice and I bet could slam a bottle of tequilla over Ellens head so fast she would be thinking she was in the studio creating Finding Nemo!
