You have a problem pardner with no great solution. Only your bank will honor it and only after it clears. So you had better become resigned to that situation.

Now here is a possible alternative. If the bank the check is drawn on has a brach nearby they will have to honor it. For example Chase or Bank America or Citicorp for example. If it is drawn on one of those 2 bit local yokle banks, which is probably the case, you are out of luck.

Maybe, just maybe your employer will cash it for you. Worth a try anyway.

Probably no one since it is probably an out-of-state check. Take it to your bank, tell them you want to deposit it but you want them to release some of the funds right away. They won't allow you access to the full amount for about 10 days but they should free up a portion of it for you to use. That is probably the best thing to do since even if you can find a check cashing place to cash it, they are going to take a huge percentage of the check for themselves.

first put it in your bank then take it out little by little. The bank should let you cash it if you have an account with them.

You saved $4600 and now you're going to throw it away! Send that check to Vanguard or Fidelity and roll it into an IRA.

I don't know if you can cash it. You will probably have to deposit it in an account and wait for it to clear.
