Why can't a man just straight out say what he wants, and why can't a woman straight out say what she wants? The truth is, guys want 'tang, and girls want a house, family, and kids, so we have to do this dance of lies in order to tolerate eachother and pretend like we want the same thing, when we don't. Why is this?

The question is: Why do we lie to eachother about it?

Basic biology, man- men and women actually have brains that are hard-wired differently. Men tend to be more linear in thought, whereas women are all over the place with their train of thought/ Also, men are thought of as "low-context thinkers" which means that they take everything said and heard on a surface level (if a woman says "I'm fine," she means she's fine, right?) Women, on the other hand, are thought of as "high-context" communicators, which means they read many subtextual meanings into what is said, and this makes them jump to conclusions or get upset over a seemingly small thing. (Like if you tease them about something and you know you're just kidding, but they make a huge deal over it.) Also, women are especially tuned in to dialectics, which is the science of what is said vs. what is meant. That means that they don't just get upset over the context of the words, but also the tone of voice. (Ever had a girlfriend get angry at you for saying something relatively benign, because she said you were using a snotty tone of voice?) Anyway, men and women will never think the same way about things, and the best we can do is try really hard to understand how the opposite sex thinks.

Men have to learn how to compromise, and not look out for themselves. They have to mature before they realize what is really important in life. Also they may not have been friends with each other from the beginning. Honesty may also have played a part, the man is not honest because most often they are thinking about one thing, the tang. Sometimes if they get their mind focused on the right thing and priorities it will work.

I think about the same thing everyday. Here is my philisophy (sorry for the pessimistic attitude)

Men want P u s S y
Women want money
(it even rhymes)

People are self-contained
so you're here today and gone tomorrow
it's called disposable.

Men are all dogs
women are lazy as hogs
and want a man to provide
but when a man finds a woman to provide
all of a sudden he wants to hide.

Mainly it's confusing because there are certain people that generalize what a complete gender wants and don't want. They then pass on the ignorance to their children and it just grows.
Not ALL men or ALL women want any certain thing. Some men and women relate to each other very well. Once you stop thinking that every woman wants the same thing or that every man wants the same thing, you too will be able to relate intelligently.

If that is what you believe of men and women, then you might not have really understood them and as such, its perfectly understandable why you would find it hard for them to understand, much less relate to each other.

Well not all gay guys act like that. And not all straight guys act like you. People are Farley different, but there is some truth to what you say. Some guys, straight and gay, act like what they see from TV. mainly due to a lack of a positive role module in there lives.

You're naming sterotypes. Why can't men also want a family, house and kids and women want sex?

No wonder you don't get along with the opposite sex.

Because Homosexuality is the only alternative.

I'd give it a shot, but men are so god damn ugly.

this is because men know the outcome with women before it happens... we just want to avoid conflict.
