Try Windows Media Player. There's no fee to download it and you can hear complete songs and see movie videos on it also.
I also have Dell Jukebox by Musicmatch. This one is great but there's a monthly subscription you pay for it. It keeps play lists and it has a radio section. It also has artist and track searches . You get the whole song and you have options of the level of service you want. Also, you can purchase tracks or whole albums and then burn them.

I'd just listen to samplings on Amazon.com & see what I liked. Then download them from a P2P like Limewire, EMule, etc. If I didn't like it, delete the MP3. Seems easier than searching for a websites with only the songs you want to hear.

You can also go to the official/fan websites for the bands/artists see if they have the songs available to listen to.

There are many, many music download sites that allow you to search for a specific song and preview (sample) it before you purchase (download) it. Just do a Dogpile or Google search for the song you want to preview and follow the links until you find a site that provides a music sample.
