I don't recommend a heating blanket. It can toast your skin. Just be careful not to set the heat too high.

There is heat such is used in professional chiropractic offices. Do you want one or two? Where is the pain? The technician places it at the appropriate place on your back and you lean back and it begins to heat up on contact. Your bones go back in, in seconds and completely on little pressure. And the chiropractor is happy--he's accomplished doing you a LOT of good with a fraction of the effort!

What you want for work is called a heating pad which is the rectangular size of a pillow. There is a heating mechanism inside of two pieces of a volour like material and you plug it in and can get low, medium or high heat.

I call it an electric blanket and I have mine stitched to my duvet inside the duvet cover with just a sheet under me. it is very cosy on cold nights, I would switch it on for 1 hour before bedtime, at the moment I am still using my summer tog without heat.

heating blankets have to be plugged in. There are coils of wire in between the blanket, they get warm or hot when you plug in. :):):)
