actually there is no scientific proof that TV hurts your Eyes... it actually can relax them due to the light stimulation... reading books however, causes your eyes to strain and thereby can cause damage over a long period of time (but this is only if you read for say, 12 hours a day for like 30 years strait)

I would think so only if you watch it 12+ hrs a day everyday, and if you sit too close to it. But other than that, it can't hurt.

I've have to go with YES on this one. Only because of the ongoing glare it has on it. I know our parents told us OVER AND OVER to "GET BACK FROM THE T.V., YOU'LL GO BLIND!" However, I did NOT go blind neither did ANY of my sisters, but we ALL wear glasses - SUCKS!! A year supply of carrots won't help either! Ask a doctor for a REAL opinion. This is just my personal thought.

No, all that don't sit close to the televison is just old wise tells-your eyes adjust to anything you put in front of it.
