Rap music has always been about bling and money and cars, etc. That hasn't changed. Grunge is extinct, however, punk still seems to be around and a new wave of Brit rockers are cranking out some good tunes that sound like the true music from the days of yore. However, no matter how true a musician is to music, if they're popular they're also invariably going to be rich. Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Beck and other "true musicians" are also filthy, stinking rich which puts them above and beyond the average person who enjoys their music. So you tell me. If you want to listen to music that has no commerciality to it at all, go to the local clubs in your area and buy their CDs. I can bet you they will sound like they were recorded in a garage and you will probably feel like you blew $5 on a futuristic looking coaster.
