Wow some of these people are so ignorant and rude to an honest question.

Personally I love Chicago. There are so many things to do around the city from the street festivals to concerts to parks; night life and restaurants are amazing and the shopping is great too. Culturally so diverse it's great. There is always something going on somewhere in the city, if you're bored its your own fault.

Cons though are the crazy weather. Summers are so hot and winters so cold! (yesterday it was in the 30s!) It's also not cheap to live here, apt's and condos are pricey! And the traffic geez!!!

It's a great city to live in! Tons of stuff to do and see, even outdoors in the middle of winter. It has a good transit system. Biking is becoming more popular and is promoted by the mayor. The job market is not depressed as someone mention above. Just like any big city, it has areas that are more risky than others but over all it's a great city.

Listen, Chicago is a great city- we have it all, and I am not being partial because I am from here (I've been and lived in other places). Check it out

I hear it gets really cold in winter, and really hot in summer. On the flip side, the city has great culture from restaurants to nightlife. So, yes living there would be good.

its windy? No ...well, what are you used to? Do you live in a big city like LA or a rural area like in the sticks in the middle of nowhere?

If you dont mind the crime and people calling you a child for putting ketchup on your hot dog, then you may love it in Chicago.

Im British but I have spent time in Chicago. I love the Lincolnshire area of the suburbs........... probably because it more "upmarket" to where I am used to living :) It was like being in a different world.

Job market appears more depressed than the national norm.

Big patches of poor neighborhoods throughout the area can make things difficult.

Gas and apartments are more expensive.
