Reduce the dose to 10mg for a month (10mg is the lowest dose of temazepam). After a month, take 10mg on alternate nights for another month, then every 3rd night and so on until you're off them. If this doesn't work, see your GP - he is bound by confidentiality and you don't have to tell him where you got them. Trust me, he will be able to refer you to an addiction counsellor and this will make it much easier to come off them. Good luck :)

Are they in tablet form? If so, start taking only half. After a couple of weeks, cut down to every other night for a week, then every two nights, etc etc. This is how you get off antidepressants without any major stresses.
Also, try and modify your bedtime routine. Try a warm bath and a milky drink (or Dr. Stuart's tranquillity tea) and turn off the TV and computer for an hour before bedtime. Wind down, don't force yourself into sleep.
Good luck!

See your doctor,he won't do anything but help you. I wish I had some since I have formed a slight syptom of insonmia.you could try drinking yourself to sleep but then you will end up in a nervous reak and have to go to the doctor to get prescibed diazapam which is valium and trust me it's hard to stop drinking and you sometimes you just can't go cold turkey after drinking otherwise you can fall into a coma where as in your case you can't,or you could try lots of weed lol, sorry really this is just some stupid advise since I'm bored and can't sleep but what I have said is true if you know what I mean.

Honey its gonna take plain ol willpower and you may get sick a few times and I would also suggest if you can't do it go to a drug rehad clinic going to a drug rehab clinicwould be fine they won't do anything to you or your friend for taking a medicine that wasn't prescribed for you because if you think about it people go to the clinics for cocain addiction and other stuff like that and they don't get in trouble afterwards so it would be fine for you to go and they can give you medicine to ease your withdrawls cause they have nurses there.

See the doctor, you need help not condemnation. Your doc may well tell you what you already know, taking meds prescribed for someone else and given to you to take is illegal.
You are probably addicted and need profssional help, please get it and get this nasty drug out of your system. DO NOT try to do it on your own.

Your doctor won't report you. They will help you. Failing that you won't die if you go cold turkey. lock yourself away for a fortnight. Think about why you've been taking it because you'll probably find something equally addictive to fill the void.
