OK, what I would, and have done is this...
When I first moved into this house, it had a huge amount of spiders and webs. I took a wet and dry vac and sucked all the webs up and spiders that were in them too...(I did all the floor joists in the basement).
Then, I got a dehuidifier to suck up all the water vapors, so that they didnt have any water to draw from.
Then, I got me a few cans of the expandable spray foam and sealed all the crevices, nooks and crannies that I could find, where they could come in. I put weather stripping around the basement doors to seal that avenue up. Windows were caulked so no entrance that way.
Now, any "bare earth floors", I would get concrete and lay it down over that, so that you wont have any moisture comeing into the house, and the spiders wont have a "damp hole" in which to live! (This also helps prevent mold from forming in the house too, because an earthen floor will drawl dampness into the house). If you have windows, and they "get moisture" in the winter, its from the damp earth floor, either in the basement or crawl space.
Put some vynol down over it, until you can concrete it up.
They say, monkey balls...(large balls that come off certain trees, and when they decay, they put off a gas of some sort), will keep the spiders out, but, I tried them and they didnt work! But, this other stuff worked for me.
I wish you well..
