The typical spelling is Donovan, but I like the alternate method, Donavan, better. I have also seen Donyvan (but expect his pals to call him Donny if you do that).
For middle names, find your inspriation from your family, so it's more personal. Like, my son's middle name is Colton, because my mom's maiden name is Cole. Or open the Bible and look for something that goes well in the mix. Since the first and last initials are common consenants, you may want to stay away from vowels. An "A" middle name, for example, makes his initials spell DAM, and you know his friends will laugh at that...
