Spongebob does possess quite a few effeminate qualities, but being a children's cartoon character i would doubt that he has a delcared sexual preferance.
by the way -sponges in real life are asexual -they reprodice by budding...

What happened in that episode to make them think he was gay? People are always trying to find problems with popular cartoons I don't understand why they don't just let them be cute, funny, and amusing without criticizing them.

did you know the creator of spounge bob is gay....thats probably why they think hes gay because "you know if you touch a gay person your gay" or because "what ever gay people do or create has to be gay in some way or form." (i was being sarcastic and making fun of ridiclous people)
