Using the HotSync Log to troubleshoot synchronization issues
The HotSync Log is a document generated by the HotSync Manager whenever you start to synchronize your device. It can tell you which conduits were sucessfully synchronized, which were not, and sometimes, if a conduit failed, why.
If your desktop PC does not respond to a HotSync attempt, no HotSync log will be generated. See Knowledge Library article 2630 for HotSync troubleshooting.
If your desktop PC starts a synchronization but fails before completing, the HotSync log can tell you which conduit failed.
If you're using a third-party conduit to sync your Palm device with a Personal Information Manager (PIM) other than Palm Desktop or Microsoft Outlook, you might find error messages in the HotSync log specifically relating to those conduits. We can not provide support for third-party conduits. Contact the manufacturer of the conduit for assistance.
