Your local womens shelter is always great. They can help you narrow down which abuse is best to write about.
also get the stats on abuse and its different types. Here are some wedsites that have great information for you.

I'd actually talk to an abuse counselor, or someone with past experience, if they are willing. Or the local library would be a good choice also ^^ Google might be an *okay-ish* one, but I'd save it for a last resort.

why not try contacting social services, they might be able to direct you to other means of research. hope you find something
