Ppl are always telling me how beautiful my family is and how beautiful my kids are... My kids are very aware of both sides and they are completely comfortable with their race... They actually feel its an advantage...

Please teach them about both sides of their history while they're still young (around six or seven). The parents of my mixed friends and relatives tried to avoid small discussions of race and history (both good and bad aspects of it) and left it up to society to remind them of how different they are and what the "N" word means. They were called all kinds of names from other children who were different from them. Children should not have to think about color, but when they are considered a minority or considered African-American strictly because their complexion is a little more tanned, they don't always have that luxury.
And hair deeply affects children in the long run. I would suggest getting books about different hair types and skin color and learning what not to do to their hair as they grow older.

Telling you and your husband that your children are beautiful is a step in the right direction. Keep in mind the history of the world. There are still quite a few people who think that the white race is more intelligent and better than any other. Other than those who are closest to me, everyone else thinks that I am biracial. There are underlying prejudices from white and black. From some extremes in the African American community, it is assumed that the black man thinks that he is too good for black women. Hence, the children are too good to for the black race because of their white mother, "good hair", and lighter skin. On the other hand, the extreme white community believes that there should be no racial mixing, period, ever. They would rather harm those that do; and all minorities should be sent back to their home country. It is so sad that this level of ignorance still exists in 2006. It is wonderful that you are teaching them about both cultures, because that is very important. Eventually, you will need to teach them about the biases of certain groups. Please let them know that they did not do anything wrong, and some people refuse to accept change and what is right. Take care.

You are certainly not on your own! But you must be very insecure about it, or you wouldn't have asked the question,I wonder why??
There are still quite a few remnants of racism left in society , but you must have noticed this is slowly dying out , your children can only help in this process!
"What the world needs now is a a great big melting pot"etc etc!
I thought that was a great song and still do, it really is coming true , slowly but surely !!
Imagine all the people being 'mixed' races what would we have to argue about then, (apart from religion of course)?
Hitlers 'Pure stock' didnt get very far did it?
You should not need to ask , you are raising a family and should be proud of them as I'm sure you are, but dont worry about being "looked over" I'm sure your children will be able to fend for themselves! And their real friends wont care what colour or 'mix' they are!
Just as a matter of interest I am white Scottish and even I will eventually get over my complete dislike of the English, that also is going to be a very slow process, in fact forget that, I will never get over it!!
Good luck to you and your family! (Your not English are you)???????

What you're suggesting is Eugenics. No it incredibly is fairly not real. no person man or woman is extra suitable in something. some human beings could have actual, psychological, psychological advancements or dibilitations. It doesnt count the ethnicity. extra like the way of existence that newborn became raised in. diverse cultures tutor extra heavily on somewhat some issues. and a few skills you're merely born with. comparable is going for ailments and the such. Eugenics is undesirable. It became an concept first pushed interior the USA interior the Nineteen Thirties. It became later observed via Hitler and the 0.33 Reich. Breed extra suitable Aryan race of blond haired, tall, blue eyed gods and goddesses. yet Hitler became none of those issues. And blue eyes are in certainty an genetic mutation.

Society now days accepts interracial children. Of course you will always have some racists, but if you really cared about them you wouldn't of had kids in the first place. Live you life and don't care what others think. Raise your children with morals and values and they will learn how to stand up for themselves.

Well I am mixed with black and white. I guess it depends on where ur living. If you live in an enviroment where there are other black ppl they should be okay. i know i grew up in a very white town and I was called ******, locked in closets, had food thrown at me and the schools said it was freedom of speech. it later caused me to drop out and just get an hsed. Just watch for warning signs and listen to there complaints it may be as big as they say and they may not just be blowing it up.

becoming a norm-as long as they are loved and nurtured they should be fine---my feeling is the children didn't get to choose the situation, also there are a number of adoptions that have mixed races involved

This is such a non-issue for me and where I live. I have a new grandbaby who is black, spanish and Italian. Mixing of the races is super fine with me as we are ALL humans. When we start mixing with animals.....THEN we have a problem.

Interracial children generally prosper. they have the benefit of two cultures to learn from. Sort of a 'best of both worlds' situation.
