There are a few options. You can go for a more glamorous "nude" look by using shimmery browns, coppers, bronze and of course gold. L'Oreal HIP, Scott Barnes, Stilla have wonderful colors that have excellent formulations in these color ranges.
You can also go into the plum range by using colors like deep violet, grape, and shimmery wine. The same brands above also make nice colors in these ranges, and this is a great look to pair with a smoky eye for night time.

Purple shades make brown eyes stand out really well. I would reccommend looking at Almay's line. They have eyeshadow, liner, and mascara that go with brown eyes (and all other colors!). There's a set for a simple look and then a set for a more dramatic look.

A shimmery gold will be your best bet. This looks wonderful on darker skin. Also if you want to aim for something more colourful then a deep blue/purple will go nicely. You can usually find some good make up tutorials on youtube, so it's worth a look around.

I have brown eyes and I wear everything....but to bring out your eye color...use purple in any shade...purple eye liner with black mascara don't forget to highlight just under your brows with a neutral light color, I also find a jade green works well with brown eyes..

You have many choices for your color. Purple is in for fall this year, green, brown, light neutral shades, just about any color would look great!

From how you described yourself, you sound like your skin has cool undertones, any cool colors would look great on you, so any form of green, blue or purple are cool colors, also browns and other neutrals would look nice on you. Lots of makeup companies now classify their colors into warms, cools, and neutrals, so go check out your local drug store, or department store depending where you shop, and that will hopefully simplify things for you.

Well I like to wear brown eyeshadow, but the experts say to wear a purple eyeshadow because it makes brown eyes pop. I actually have a eyeshadow set that has brown and purple and they look good together.

maybe a shade of green or a shade of light blue. that
would look really nice on a certain skin tone and type of
person you look like.
