I say it's 15.5*10^2 but this computer program says I'm wrong.

What is it, then?

It says 1.55*10^3 is wrong, too.

Thank you for your help! I talked to my teacher, and it turns out- the program has some serious problems. Wish he'd told me that BEFORE I spent a half hour pulling my hair out over this problem.

1.55 x10^3
you always need to break the "Whole number" part of the equation to a single digit.
eg.
5.4323 X 10^4
not 54.323 x 10^3

It would be 1.55 x 10^3. The number before the multiplication sign should always be less than 10.

It is 1.55x10^3

The number should be between 1 and 9.99999999...
If the program says that is wrong, it is wrong.
