Ok I understand the confusion. What percentage has the Dow risen since it's near 9/11 low?

EDIT* Walter those numbers can't be right. The dow was somewhere around 8000 as a result of 9/11. And today flirting with 12,000. Now by my estimation, that's a 50% increase. True or no. Did I not do the math correctly?

Which Index are you talking about?
DJIA - approx 9600 on 9/9, approx 7900 on 9/16
dropped to 7400 in 2002
NAS -1800 or so right after 9/11

The Dow Jones has gone up about 5%, the S&P 500 about 6% and the NASDAQ about 10%.
SINCE 9/11 OF THIS YEAR. That's why you need to ask your question in a complete sentence, such as: "How far has the Dow Jones Industrial Average risen since the terrorist attack on 9/11/2001?" Is that thoroughness too much to ask?
