Of course you don't need a degree to be successful.
But you better have bigger plans than waiting tables or working at Starbucks for when you drop out.

RE:
Do you really need college to be successful in life?
I've been in college for almost 2 years now and I dont think its for me. However, I go because everyone makes it seem that if you dont go and get a degree then you'll be a failure in life. Is there anyone out there that is successful that didnt go to college?

You don't need college to be good at a job. You don't need college to be intelligent. And college only seems to hurt your ability to think for yourself - too much brainwashing.
Unfortunately, your first impression on a future employer will be your resume. Without a degree, most people will throw out your resume instantly. It's very unfair, but that's the way it happens. In addition, if you get the job, you will be paid less - no matter what your real skill level. Big companies LOVE the college degree. I work with a bunch of idiots who have degrees. They make more than the intelligent people without degrees. Honestly. It's really unbalanced.
Since you've already gone through two years, stick with it. It is really hard to go back and finish later. You'll have other obligations and it will be ten times as difficult.

College is hard...I am in my 4th year and I need 5 to get the degree...A college degree will surely get u a good, well payed job. Don't quit now so u won't be sorry later. During my first 3 years I've seen a lot of people quit (250 started college...now there are about 170 left) but most of them didn't really manage to get into another college, others did.

Honestly, no, I don't think it is essential for success. I myself am a college grad, but I am struggling to make ends meet as an admin. assistant, while I see some of my friends who didn't graduate from college making upwards of 50 grand a year as sales reps or underwriters. I will say, however, that whether or not you should graduate from college totally depends on what career you're shooting for. You can make all kinds of money and be successful without a degree in fields like sales, mortgage (to some degree), IT, etc. However, if you're looking for a job in advertising, PR, marketing, or HR, they basically won't even let you answer their phones without at least a Bachelor's degree. So, do some serious thinking about where you want your career path to lead you, and then make the call about college based on that.

no you can do OK with out college such as a plumber mechanic electrician or other trade skill However long gone is the day were you could get most of the jobs out there with a HS degree now days even entry level jobs want people with at least an AA degree
and do not count on a plan as more fail then succeeded.

You don't need college to be successful. Look at Steve Jobs - no college degree. BUT, it will not be easy (it isn't easy even if you have a college degree).

Sure there are people who have gotten successful without college but the amount of those people is minuscule.
Sticking with college is your best bet. A college graduate gets more opportunities than a college dropout/high school graduate.

Yeah you could still be successful but it would be hard. Sounds like your almost 1/2 way done with college. Just stick with it and at least get your associates degree in something!
