If you're going to Paris, I would say to go to the 12th arrondisment and eat ethnically at the Bercy village.
I loved "The Frog" pub. Always order "gringotas"

Poisson du Maison, but make sure you order Poisson and not Poison. Otherwise you are ordering the Poison of the house rather than the fish of the house. Also try Duxelle, it's a filling made of sauteed mushrooms (especially good with flounder... Flet Duxelle)

surprising how the people who answer know absolutly nothing. WHEN YOU GO to a typical french cafe which is very cheap and good order the dish of the day. which will never have snails nor confits of anything. we have so many ways of cooking whatever that you will always find something your taste.just ask what they have and to explain you what it is;how its cooked and so on.if you do not like the idea look on the menu and ask again; thats their job allez mange bien

For lunch:Croque Monsieur is one of my favorites. You can also order a Croque Madame, it has a fried egg on top. Salade Nicoise.
For dinner: Moule (mussels), Cassoulet, Steak et Frite (french fries) with a red wine sauce. These are my favorites.

Bon Appetit!
