There is no way to tell exactly what the problem is, there is not enough information. The stop line you show is explaining where the system was affected but it doesn't mean that your RAM is damaged. All it shows is that you had a stop error there. Could very well be software related. If you have loaded software recently, you could try a restore to last known good configuration. This is an option from the windows startup menu which you get to by tapping the F8 key when the computer is starting up. So when you see the black screen with white letters start tapping the F8 key. When your computer screen shows you the startup menu, use your down arrow and choose "last know good configuration" That will try to restore you system back to the last time it was functioning properly. This doesn't always work so you may end up calling Dell.

Blue Screen O'Death before windows even tries to load? that's something gone wrong at quite a basic level, like, some bit of hardware has gone zizz.
If you're lucky, the disk itself will be untouched and you will recover everything as soon as whatever it is is fixed.
But you do need to call Dell. Have fun in the horrible phone system. You might find it easier to try the online (non human) technical support first, and also submit an email help request. They do answer emails - slightly officiously, but sometimes you can get to the answer that way.

Unfortunately, that one's known as the 'blue screen of death' because it normally means you will have to completely re-install the operating system.
Try pressing F2 (or F9) as soon as the power comes on, and it should take you to the boot menu, where you could try to boot in 'safe mode' and take it from there. It may not be F2 though, but it tells you which F key accesses this section when you see that black screen with the white writing you described.
If the thing is dead, try turning it on with the Dell disk it came with and you may be able to repair it. If it doesnt automatically boot from the CD, you can make it do so by changing this setting in the bootup section I'm trying to get you into.
Good luck

There is no reason to panic in case your Windows 7 does not start in your Dell Inspiron 570, as your Windows 7 allows Boot repair right from the Bios itself. Windows 7 includes a Startup Repair tool that is provided on your Windows 7 disk. It can also be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. Use the Startup Repair tool to fix the MBR file. Windows will instruct you over every step. In case of a CMOS battery failure, simple change of battery will do the job. If the problem still persists, then there is a high chance that one or more of your hardware have failed. In that case it is best to consult technical assistance.

This sounds like the system is crashing. I just got my computer back, it crashed major at the end of Sept. After the blue screen appeared with numerous error messages my hard drive then dumped all data. I'm starting over from scratch... I wish I could give you better news, but it really does sound like her system is crashing :(

2. Go to dell.com and use their pc checkup. It will search for problems and auto-fix them.
