I bought a new 1 gallon gas can and filled it with gas some months ago. I never used it and don't remember if I put the 2 cycle oil in with the gas or not. How can I be certain, one way or the other?

Btw, oil never settles out of another oil (which gas is a light oil)

It will be very dark (pretty much black)......

If your worried that much, dump the whole gallon in your car (it won't hurt it a bit) and mix fresh.

Shake the can very welll.. then pour out some in a glass.. If the oil settles to the bottom.. you have added oil already

Pour some in a clear glass. If it's cloudy at all then there's oil in it. Maybe you should add more oil anyway or just get rid of it.

Usually the color will change to a darker tint than the gas alone.

you should be able to tell by the color. oil darkens the gas

like everyone else had said, simply check the color, OR put a drop between your fingers and feel if its a bit breasy vs how gasolene would feel....
