Personally, I believe that when it comes to saving lives, ethnic profiling is reasonable. I mean I'm asian, and I don't mind them rounding targeting their energy towards asians if there is an asian bomber in the city. I think that it is a sacrifice you pay for your country. Besides, you would go for war for your country(not this war..retarded, but WWII), why not take a few interrogations?
The FBI is not RACISTS okay, it's just that as a matter of facts; profiling features such as clothing, behavior, and looks are just a part of their job. Race just "happens" to be a feature people are sensitive about. That being said, I'm against racist racial profiling such as stopping people for BWD's(black while driving).

OK profiling is sometimes necessary, but it always has to be applied in a situation where it is indispensable and supervised appropriately. If it is conducted appropriately, it is not as disruptive or volatile compared to when profiling is indiscriminately used in an inappropriate manner. So, supervision is absolutely necessary and consistent supervision is the key. Good Question!

Knowing that an asian person committed a crime, and then hunting around and bothering the asian people in the vicinity of the crime is not racial profiling--that's more like using your info to narrow down the suspects.
Racial profiling would be stopping a black guy because he's black, scrutinizing only a certain race at the airport, or anywhere, just because they are the certain race. Racial profiling is looking for the race, because they probably committed A crime.

In a way, there's nothing wrong with it. If an Asian man (for example) just robbed a woman, then questioning Latinos doesn't make much sense.
However, it occurs to me that the next step in terrorism is using white women as bombers. I mean, when you ONLY treat certain people as suspicious, that means there are some people who are ABOVE suspicion. It would be the easiest thing in the world for those in the "privileged" group to commit crimes.
It's very clear that the law is unfairly applied in this country, in spite of the fact that profiling sometimes makes sense. So it's clearly not being applied in reasonable ways.

I agree that ethnic profiling is ok. Sometimes it can get out of control. like the BWD, those ppl are just ignorant fools. The FBI needs to profile because thats how they catch people. For example if the FBI are looking for a white man with a blue ball cap that acts disoriented, then if you fit that discription you should be questioned.
But, i do think black ppl have it worse. Most thugs dont wear fitted pants and a collered shirts. With the ever prevelaent hip hop culture, most young blacks imitate this: baggy clothes, unkept hair, and ghetto slang. So if the FBI needs to find someone that looks like this, it seems like their going after the majority of young black population, when their in fact following leads. The solution: buy clothes that fit and present your self as an intelligent idividual, not some dope selling gang banger you see on MTV.
There incidences in which there is racal motivation, but in most cases i would say not.
As a black woman I would say that sometimes blacks make it hard on them selves when is come to profiling. the facts are you are what you wear...so if you look like a thug, then expect to be treated like one. I mean arent there ways to look "cool" without you just shoot up the block?
So to answer your question, i think ethnic profiling is absolutly neccisarry. I mean isnt it easier to look for a hispanic man with a black shirt as opposed to just a man with a black shirt? I mean, ethinicity is something you cant change (except Micheal Jackson) and i my opinion a very good tool to catch someone, as you cant hide what race you are.

Ethnic profiling is just another term for racism. We white people in America do not think much about it because we are not the ones being targeted----most often we are the ones doing the targeting. I am not saying that law enforcement should not have guidelines for detecting criminal---they should; however, law enforcement officials have the tendency to go one witch hunts, and white people can become targets based on ethnic criteria such as manner of speech, natural origin, mannerisms and even diet.

It's wrong. And I'm Asian too, but racial profiling makes it seem like if one person, like an Asian committed a crime, all of his fellow Asian is at fault too? No, of course not. Racial profiling is wrong and you know it. If anyone tries to racial profile, I'll give them the middle finger, and that's that.
Oh and have you noticed, it's always the minorities who gets targeted? It's just another way of racism.

basically... truthfully everyone seems to be stupid. truthfully everyone racially profiles each and all of the time. basically like in case you circulate answer your door overdue at nighttime and there is slightly previous woman there, then you will in all probability no longer hesitate to open the door first and spot if there's a project. If there replaced right into a huge guy with tattoes and grimy finding, somebody who sounds like it may be difficulty, then you will in all probability no longer open the door yet ask outloud, "what's it? or what am i able to do for you?". that doesn't advise you pregidous against special adult men with tattoes and grimy finding, it basically skill you utilize your undemanding experience. truthfully everyone does it each and all of the time and in all diverse situations. and its no longer incorrect.
