It's okay if you want to waste your money for nothing, it's proven that kids that show up for classes are much more likely to pass so you may as well just go and half way listen to the prof. you'll do better overall!!!

I would have to say no. I attend Loyola University Chicago and although I dread going to class at times, especially on a Friday after I've had a crazy thirsty Thursday I still go to class. The professors notice if you're going to class and show an interest. When it comes down to final grades they take this into consideration, and if you're on the borderline, you get boosted up.

You should call your professors, and request your assignments via email. Teachers will typically still be disappointed if you missed class several times with no notice. It's like work, you have to approach your classes like they are important to you. I am not trying to lecture, but you should try to be more pro-active if you know that you want to cut class. If you call ahead of time, no one will bat an eye. If you call after the fact, you look desperate to correct your mistake.

No it's not okay - when I did my ungrad, I could never understand why so many students did not show up for class. And half the ones that showed up came in pajamas! This is NOT high school - grow up! You (or your parents) are paying good money for a higher education - you should be savoring every minute! You should be soaking up the knowledge like a sponge. You should be grateful for the opportunity!!

if you're not attending class regularly & you run into difficulties, the prof may not be as likely to cut you some slack. its best to try & make it as much as you can.
