I dont think he will be disappointed..maybe feeling a little overwhelmed at the time. Not everyone is ready to go back into it right after one. Some need a little time to get over it and enjoy the first. If you are pregnant just let him know, im sure he will love the baby as well. If you arent pregnant then try and give him some time. I know that this is my first and we both want to wait at least two years before the next just so we can experience a couple of years with our first together so we can properly give our next one the same thing. Hope that everything works well for you!

I was 37 when I got pregnant with my daughter who is now 2. I was 39 when I got pregnant and had my son, now 4 1/2 months. The kids are 19 months apart. I wanted to wait until my daughter was a year before we started trying, but it happened all by itself when she was 11 months.
The way I broke it to my husband was, I was 2 weeks late and didn't really realize I was that late. I had an extra test and took it. When I came out of the bathroom, I asked him to look at it. It said PREGNANT on it, so there was no mistake.
What could he say? He just looked shocked, said Oh, Oh, then we were happy about it.
It is VERY, VERY hard. I could not do this by myself. My husband and I divide and conquer. He plays with my daughter. I take care of my son. We constantly have to watch my daughter because she wants to poke little brother's eyes to show us where his eyes are. She crawls in bed to be by mommy while I'm nursing the baby and will put all her weight on his tummy because she wants to see what he's doing.
Hindsight - I think I would have waited until my daughter was 18 months. That way, she would have been a little older. She listens now, but we still have to watch her. They just don't realize that they can hurt the baby.
I am still waking up once at night for a feeding. I don't have any time for myself.
I actually thought it was just going to be another diaper to change. Boy, was I wrong. I have just resigned my job because I can't keep up with my work (I work at home) because the noise level is too great. I also have a nanny that takes care of the kids at home while I work.
I am 40 and exhausted. If you are in your 20s or 30s, you may have more energy than I do. I'd say you have time to wait. It will be worth it. But, if you are older like me and had to have the babies quickly, then go for it and get ready for the best, most exhausting job you will ever have.
Best of luck.

Just tell him that you think you might be pregnant... get tested to see if you are... If you're NOT pregnant I would suggest that you wait until your current child is at least 2 years old... You want your current baby to have all the attention it needs while it's young.... Having too many children too close together can cause the children to feel neglected.... I know I came from a family of 6 all of us are a year apart... it sucks....My mom was always too busy with the youngest child to notice or give us the appropriate attention that we needed....

Wel, um. It is like this Holly. If you are pregnant it is kind of what it is. Get tested and be sure. then if you sre pregnant tell hubby to buy unisex baby clothes until you have an idea of what the new one will be. Get my drift. Men can rant rave and worry but it is not up to us and , well, it is another bit of us into the world. men don't have kids, they are given them by women who love them.(both the man and the kid). He might squack at first or just go dumb in shock. Oh well. He will get used to it. and even find it easier the second time. He has already been through the drill once.

There's more to life than just having baby's dear. Even I had to admit under difficult circumstances, that even though my children were born 2 years apart, which sounds ideal because your eldest also apeals more to a man, because they can have their own piece of you and the child (son). You're already back in your sexual energy with your hubby !!! Take more time.... There is no reason to rush into things... Husbands actually do not want their wives to be mother... She is their lover, and with a bulging belly a man reveres his wife as Goddess. Not many men adjust well to the situation of mother and child, because the image reminds them of their indadequacy biologically to be able to carry at all.
He's not crazy about the idea???? Tough luck... Other point.... Are You? Your hormone administration might still be a wee bit out of wack... Breastfeeding my eldest, focused my hormones on the child, so my cile didn't return untill about nine months after bearth of the first.....
Experiences of women we should bundle.... computers do the extrapolating.... maibe your Nobel prize???

I think it is something that happens to woman once they have the baby, I immediately wanted another one. My husband wasn't feeling the same way, but I gave him time and when my son was 8 months we started trying and we are expecting baby number two. At times it feels overwhelming and times it is great, but make sure you are both ready for another child, you don't want to rush him into something he is not ready for.
If you are late for your period and that is why you think you might be pregnant then I would tell him that you think you might be and want to get a test. but if you are not late for your period I would wait it out to see if it comes. I know that there were several times I thought I was pregnant before I actually was and none of them were, just me over thinking it.

I think that if you ARE pregnant that you should plan a lovable, cute way to tell him like having a t-shirt made for your 6 month old that says "I'm going to be a big sister! (or brother, you didn't say if you had a girl or boy now) and what father is going to be able to resist how precious THAT is??? Also, lots of people choose to have their babies close together in age for a number of reasons... They will be closer siblings, you're in the diaper years all at once but get through it quicker, their activities will be similar throughout the years, etc. Be happy if it's true and think it through seriously if it's not and you have time to plan ahead.

I personally think your children will be too close in age. My sister has two boys 16 months, and 4 months.....they are both still babies, and it's not easy. Give your first baby time to be a baby and receive all the attention he/she needs. If you are pregnant and you have good communication with your husband then just tell him, there's nothing you can do now....

Initially, he might be a little sad, but it'll work out.
This happened to my sister-in-law and my brother. But my brother was the one who wanted a baby right away, not her. She got pregnant when my niece was only 5 months too. She was a little sad and overwhelmed at first, but she got over it. My niece and nephew are 14 months apart and they're like 2 peas in a pod! They totally play off each other -- singing and dancing together. There's never a dull moment!!!
I think you should be straight with him because if you are, you're going to have to tell him anyway... he's going to find out!
Good luck and if you are pregnant, CONGRATULATIONS (again!)!!!

Make sure you are pregnant before you turn his world upside down for starters. For second if you are you have a long road ahead of you my two oldest were 15 months apart when they were small. It is a huge responsibility to take care of one child much as less two. Whatever you do don't tell him until you are sure. No sense upsetting the apple cart lest some apples fall out
