So many destinations suggested so far, so many ideas to choose from. How about this.... Take her to 'heaven', treat her like a Queen for a day. Splash-out on the full romantic routine, dozen roses (order extra to cover your marital bed with rose petals), chocolates, champagne, romantic dinner for two,(that you cook) In the afternoon treat her to a hot-air balloon ride, don't forget to tell her how much you love her and why you married her and hope you'll both be together forever, that kinda stuff.

Got to say mate that the best weekend i have ever had with my wife was this year when i went to Amsterdam. We stayed at the Bilderberg Jan Luijken Hotel near to vondell park and all the designer shops. Amazing place and not too far from anywhere such as the red light district if you like that sort of thing. There are a lot of boat trips and bars and cafes around that area and is highly reccommended by us both. Check out the reviews on trip advisor for this hotel. I put some pics on there also from our trip in march. Took about 1 hour from Birmingham international airport.

That depends if you want to use your passort or not and how much you want to spend. There are some lovely places to visit in the UK - York is quaint and romantic and has great shopping, and I'm sure you can get to Edinburgh on the train in less than 6 hours. If you don't mind flying, Paris would always be a sure fire winner for a suprise break. If you are feeling adventurous and open-minded, Amsterdam is a wonderful, quirky city, both in terms of museums, shopping and other delights to be sampled.

Think about your wife's interests, places she may have mentioned wanting to visit before and I'm sure somewhere will appeal. PLEASE remember to give her plenty of warning though - as romantic and wonderful as a 'surprise' break may sound, us ladies like to have fair warning incase we need to wash things to pack/have our hair done or generally get used to the idea.

Have a great time!

And how old are you? What's so special about London? In well under six hours you could be in Venice, Rome, Prague, Budapest, Krakow (which I recommend) or Paris.

How about North Wales, or the Lake District - but far from the madding Crowd. Spoil her with something different. Maybe you could forget her age and she yours.

Anywhere in Europe, or maybe the Peak District or the Yorkshire Dales, both very beautiful places with lots of lovely little places to visit and some good market towns close by too.

To a lovely Water Mill and Trout Farm in Devon. It does B&B, is really easy to find and 10 minutes from the coast!
It is run by a lovely couple and is intimate, quiet and very tastefully done.
Really lovely!
Lovely grounds.
Good English Breakfast.
