Mealybugs are infesting my house plants, I even see them on new leaf shoots - how can I get rid of these pests forever They are causing my indoor vine plant severe damage by withering away leaves - i have tried cleaning them but they return I need an effective solution - I have even tried indoor plant insecticide -nothing works _ PLEASE SOMEONE WHO HAD THIS SIMILAR PROBLEM AND FOUND AN EFFECTIVE SOLUTION _ HELP!

Hmmm.. I read an article where they have these tiny wasps that kill the mealybugs. Try searching Yahoo News. I think it was under Odd News...

Use a systemic pesticide. Mealybugs live around the plants roots as well as on the leaves. There is no use spraying with a normal contact pesticide. Imidochlraprid is a non toxic chemical that will move around in the sap of a plant and only kill insects that are sucking the sap out. This stuff is also the main ingredient in advantage flea treatments for cats as it flows through the cats blood and kills fleas when they bite. In Australia this chemical is marketted as Confidor. Spray your whole garden with it if you can, i do mine about every 3 months.
