I have dispensed it to plenty of people... I notice weight changes to their detriment, depression in some and an improvement that intails level headed and rational, to a fault... like zombies.

It is not the medication that helps... it is a personal belief in the medication. Placebo studies prove, most of these psych meds are working as a direct result of the person wanting them to.

In that case, if you are ready, anything can help and if you're not, nothing can.

I suggest psychoanalysys and councelling. Pills are not the answer. Prozac only goes up to 90Mg. Exactly how many problems do you have and how long do you plan on having them... There is nowhere to go from 90mg but starting the whole process over again with a new drug.

So... WHen your body builds a tolerance to the Prozac and you begin to experience terrible deppressive withdrawls. You can start all over again with Wellbutrin or Paxil perhaps?

I was mistakenly given a prescription for Prozac because the moron who claimed to be a doctor did not properly diagnose my condition.

I was depressed because of stress, not chemical levels. I had a (now ex) wife that was a horrible person and should be in jail right now. To bad political correctness in Indiana means that all women are Innocent and pure no matter how much they lie, cheat, and steal.

After taking Prozac, I was no longer depressed, and realized, with a clear and level head, that I ACTUALLY DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO LIVE FOR!! Good thing I have a health fear of death or I would be dead now. I immediately got off that junk and when my head cleared, I filed for a divorce. It was all the hell I expected it to be, but at least I did not kill myself because of the Prozac.

If you are prescribed Prozac, please, get a second or even a third opinion BEFORE you start taking it. It may be your doctor just gets a kick back from it and prescribes it as often as he can.

Just my opinion.

Prozac is called Seroxat in my country.

The first time I took it – man – it felt really, really good, like I was normal for the first time in my life!

It takes 2 to 4 weeks before you feel results.

Mind you, the aim is to balance your serotonin levels so that you can deal with life more normally, not to get hooked on a high. And f.y.i., Prozac cannot affect the brain of a person with normal serotonin levels!

The high would eventually fade a little after a few months, but you’ll still feel like a normal person, at least.

Seroxat is darn expensive in my area, but if you can afford it, go for it because I have not found any other drug that works quite as well for depression.

Be well.

I tried it several years ago. It definitely helped lift some of the fog I was experiencing at the time. It never actually made me feel "good" though - no high or rush or anything. Just closer to normal.

It made me double up in pain shortly after I took it. I thought I had appendicitis. I know that this is rare and that most people take it with no problems. I had to go back on tricyclic antidepressants after that.

it lifts your spirit except never try it without receiving some counselling and support hand in hand otherwise you would feel like committing suicide and have the energy to do so.

No side effects.

Felt better, but I'm off 'em now.

Gotta lose the stress. Re-evaluate your life. I did. Happy me.
