I love scary movies but I get bored with how commercial they have become. Where is the originality? It seems to always be the same ole' same ole'. However, this was all until I watched the movie

The Decent

And I will just say that that is thee scariest movie I have ever seen. I watched it last year (b/c it was an independant film from overseas that has been out for a while, but the U.S. just picked it up so it was out in theatres not too long ago, but it's not new) and I have not and dont know when I will be watching that movie again!

I dont know what it was about it. But it had my bf jumping up and down, screaming like a girl, and running around the room. I was terrified. THAT IS A SCARY MOVIE!!!

The scary movies I have seen were The Grudge, Saw, and Saw 2, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Poltergiest, The Exorcist, and Carrie.

I am with you on this one. I am of course from the old school and was just a kid when the Exorcist came out. to this day it still kinda of scary in a way, because i saw it when i was so young. same thing with Salem's Lot. But nothing since the late 70s has anything given me a real good scare. White Noise was kind of interesting though.

I'm going old school with the original (from the 70's) Exorcist. That movie scares me so bad to this day I cry uncontroably when she starts freaking out in Latin. The first time I watched it I was 18 (back in 1997) and I actually blacked out and my boyfriend at the times mother had to come upstairs and put a cold washcloth on my forehead and calm me down. I hate that freakin movie so much!

I watched Jaws when I was 8, at the theatre....still can't swim. I suggest less gorry/bloddy movies and get your house into the mood. Watching a movie alone in the dark house with all the windows open. Set the mood....get into the psycological stuff and the things you can imagine or are afraid of. Try to place yourself into the movie, you probable don't identify with the danger.
