Take a moment to examine a rainbow. (Roy G. Biv) When sun hits the water droplets, it refracts, showing the specturm. The same is true for the atmosphere. When the sunlight hits the atmosphere, it refracts. The angle at which it hits the atmosphere where you stand changes the color. If you wake up and see the sunrise, (no mountains) you will see that the sky is voilet. It then changes to indigo, and stays blue the majority of the day. Then, as the sun begins to set, it turns green, yellow, organge, and red right around sunset. As I said before, it has to do with the angle. As the angle goes from 0-180, it goes from the ouside to the inside of the rainbow (Vib G. Yor).

Why is the sky blue? The sun rays contain all the frequencies making up visible light, but because the atmosphere only reflects those radiation wavelengths that make up the various shades of blue, and sometimes pink and orange, it appears back to us as those colors. The rest of the colors carry on.

The sky is blue simply due to the complicated process of how our brains react to the color spectrum. There is various ways of explaining the technical side of it but simply, its the reflection of the different color waves mixing together and landing in our eyeball, bouncing off the retina and producing the color blue, same with why the grass is green

The atmosphere has various particles/molecules that make up the color. Like for instance on Mars I believe the sun looks blue because of the atmosphere. The sun looks yellow to us.

It's main hue of blue comes from the reflection of the Oceans. The other colors are reflections/refractions of the light through different gasses in the atmosphere
