where there is no central heating in cold weather, some people close all doors and windows and use mini-halogen heaters. In effect, there is no exchange of fresh air and the room is usually stuffy. Is this not dangerous to health?

Your house has places to breath no house is air tight.

Any house w/o central heat is going to be sooooo airtight that irt is an issue...

i don't think it's dangerous, but you will probably get sick more often as the bacteria and viruses aren't cycled out of the house.
