Try to avoid eye contact if possible. As you probably can't outrun it unless it is a sausage dog then stand as still and as straight as possible. If it is a guard dog though you best run as far as possible and try and get as high as possible- a noble pastime which alleviates pain.

I'd say the best place to hide from a dog would be any place where it can't get to and/or see you. Failing that DON'T RUN, it plays on their instincts to chase. If you can't get away, avoid the teeth and give it a good kicking.

Can't you just shut the door of the room you are in with your computer in to stop the dog getting to you? If the dog is in the room throw your monitor at it
