I need some info on duty free shop in naama bay? I was told last year that the shop sold imported alcohol i.e. wine, jd, baileys and ciggeretes. I was also told you could only purchase items if you had been in sharm 2 days or less. You also need to show your passport. Any info would be greatly apprieciated

What you heard is true. You sure need to have your passport with you and there is a grace period of 3 days after arrival to make your purchase. These strict rules are in place because in the 90's a lot of tourists used to give their passports to alcohol traders to purchase duty free alcohol, which was then sold at a premium in the market. You can make your purchase as soon as you arrive in sharm, there is no waiting period, just do not exceed the 3 day grace period.
