Was? Blues have been around since "slave days". Starting primarily in the south. They have remained popular to this day.
If you haven't explored blues you should, it's addicting.

Oh you again. I think maybe you have an agenda.
It was popular in the 60's and 70's, I know that much.
Nowadays its formulaic forms- and emphasis on "the lead instrument" ( electric guitar) mainly appeals to young white guys learning the guitar, for some reason.
I'm sure there are still genuine blues performers out there- SURELY-.....?

I believe the 30's it all started until nowadays.
Blues are the background for a lot of different music.
