Smoking has a lot of bad chemicals and toxins in it and when you smoke these chemicals are drawn into the skin. It would be most noticeable on the face - thats why a lot of smokers age worse than non-smokers. Obviously the aging process takes effect on us all however its increased by smoking, you can get smokers lines around the mouth area for example. As smoking can affect your hormones then you could also say that its not going to make things like, acne and dry skin areas any better either.

Another thing is is that it can make your fingers go yellow as the smoke reacts with the skin and over a period of time the skin will turn a deep yellowish colour.

Obviously if you smoke only 1 cigarette a day rather than 40 a day its not going to be as bad but the best thing that we can do to eliminate this, is to not smoke at all and eat a very healthy diet.

First time would be hard to say. I have known people who have smoked weed all of there life. Some of them have very good jobs and some run there own businesses and make great livings that any body would be proud of. Others are useless and just want to lay around and get high. It entirely depends on the individual and whether or not they would rather get high than work and achieve goals in life or visa versa. I personally rarely smoke weed. I used to smoke a lot. I just don't like being high all of the time. It has its time and place. I like it to relax at home some times. It helps me sleep good and relaxes me when I am at home with no intention of going any where. Most of the things that you run across in life are basically good and have a use full purpose. To much of anything can have just the opposite effect. I wouldn't advise any body who is not familiar with cannibas to smoke it before a test. Like I said though. It depends entirely on the individual. Enjoy..don't abuse. There is a big difference.

I was pretty shocked when my doctor said that my ten a day habit was not a concern in the slightest as people almost never get ill unless they smoke constantly. I do take responsibility for my smoking habit and am aware that I am killing myself with every cigarette that i smoke but I found it quite disgusting that a member of the medical profession should give such bad and inaccurate advice. I did make a complaint about this but heard nothing from it.

The site below is very informative.
Yes the damage is related to the amount smoked but it varies enormously in different people. Two 20 a day smokers with identical number of years of smoking can have very different effects so other factors are thought to come into it, genetic makeup being one of them.

I knew people who smoked so much they looked as if their faces had been moulded in leather. It was extraordinarily unattractive! It also causes fine lines to appear round the mouth from all that puffing - you can always tell a woman who has smoked a lot, 'cos they almost always have these lines. It doesn't seem to affect men so much - another one of life's inequalities!

Initially smoking just makes you smell bad and fingers can become nicotine stained. Later, you get wrinkles around the mouth and your skin ages much more quickly than it should - it happened to me and friends.

Smoking dries out the skin, which causes it to lose elasticity and wrinkle faster. This makes people look older than they are.

it stops oxygen take up from the lungs, right? So there is less good rich ovgenated blood flowing around your body. So what oxygen there is gets used by the important organs - brain, heart, liver and muscles. So there is not much left for the skin, which is why is appears sallow and tired
