They're bleeding and with faces like the zombies of the "Attack of the Body Snatchers" movie. When I see then at church I can almost hear them utter "BRAAAINS! BRAAAINS!!"

Well, I don't know about the 'brains' and 'zombies' but that stuff can be much! I understand why Martin Luther and John Calvin couldn't deal anymore with it...Another thing that peeves me about Catholicism is all those rules and having to get permission from the Vatican; just recently in the news, I heard they had to get "permission" to have Mass in ENGLISH instead of the typical Latin!!
By the way dude, that clown 'icon' of your's is kinda creepy...like "John Wayne Gacy" creepy.

Catholic Churches contain the Real Presence and are a haven of peace and tranquility for all, not just Catholics. Our statues and pictures are a sign of devotion. They help us to focus on prayer and remind us of those we love such as Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints in the same way as you might look upon a photo of a family member or friend.

Yes! I was raised Catholic-went to Catholic schools all my life-& I remember thinking the very same thing. Ever notice that certain Catholic Churches look evil inside? Like something out of a horror movie? Yes, those idols are expecially CREEPY!
