Thanks- If I go to directory> properties> security. I get CREATOR OWNER showing as having permissions and, amongst other things, "full control".
If I try to delete this profile i get an error message saying that that CREATOR OWNER is still "inheriting" info. Does this mean someone out there has control of my machine? How do i delete the directory?

Ok, you are currently using your computer under the "Owner" status. While under the owner status you have full control over your computer (you can download anything, change settings, etc). You must have at least one owner accoutn on your computer therefore you cannot delete it. You could however create a new user account and give it owner access and then delete the account you are currently on, though that would be the same as if you didnt do anything =).

Good luck!

I'm a NoobieGeek; but I think the answer is...
you are trying to delete yourself...its not someone else. You are still inheriting info, and the info is that you are trying to delete your own profile.

This is a part of the OS and not a user. When you create a file and store it you are the "Creator" Owner". You made it you own it...

maybe that is the only full control user. if it is, you have to designate another full control user in order to delete it. With only limited access users you cannot have a fully functioning computer.
