I have 2 skunks that have made their home under my deck in my back yard, we have a trap set up but with the weather getting so cold so fast, I feel we won't have any luck in trapping them. I want to get rid of them before mating season which is Feb-March. The last thing I need is 1- 6 more of the furry creatures hanging around my house with my new puppy at risk of getting sprayed by them. HELP!!!

I've tried this with other animals and it's work great. Go to a local firework store (some are actaully still open) and buy the longest burning smoke bomb they got. I'm pretty sure a stink bomb won't have an affect on the skunk. Get a couple and light them off and through them under the deck where the skunk is. You have to through it as close to the skunk nest as possible. You might need to do this a couple of times because the skunk will try getting used to it...but with it being under the deck it, the smoke will take up a lot of the breathing air. Once you see the skunk run out of there, you gotta close any possible way to get under the deck whether it's with chicken wire or any other means.
