can someone identify these 80's songs and tell me simular artists?

here is the lyrics from the song..i don't really know the words but i will do my best....

1. you can dance if you want to, you can leave ????? behind, but your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, then they're no friends of mine.

2. you spin me right round baby right round like a record player...

i was born in 195 and sometimes i would hear these songs on the radio and i really liked them even as a young kid...i want to find more 80's artists like this...is there an online radio station that plays such music?

The first one is called "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. The other one is "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead or Alive. Good luck finding more music. Depeche Mode is a great 80's band, also The Cure, Queen and David Bowie.

Song one is by Men Without Hats and is called "The Safety Dance". Your second selection is You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive. I recognized both songs from my 12 year stint as a radio broadcaster that spanned the 80's.
If you're looking for 'similar' music, my choice would be to go to a website such as Pandora or to do a search on the web for 80's sites.

First one is Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. The second is Spin me Round, or something like that. Someone else already answered it. If you want to find more songs like these, check out the Living In Oblivion CD's, or the New Wave CD's. I have just about all of them, and they are really good. That's music from when I started listening to rock until I graduated from high school. Some good stuff.
