Well, you can, but considering they're hardly serving you, I don't.

I used to work at Sonic in high school. Some people tip, some don't. All the carhops made at least minimum wage. In some restaurants, they pay the waiters less because the tips make up for it. If you're going to tip, it should be 15 to 20%. I don't usually tip in fast food restaurants. I only tip if they come and take my order, bring me my food and refill my drink. If I have to go place the order, pick up the food and bus my own table, I figure I'll keep the tip for myself.

I tip at Sonic and it depends on how big my order is and whether or not she/he everything was included. It's usually $2-3 but I have tipped $5 for my family of 5. I have boys so the girl had to carry ALOT of food! She also came check on us and brought napkins & ketchup. What she did was no different than a waitress except I was in my truck.

I tip the sonic ppl but never the fast food joints. The sonic ppl have to walk to your car, sometimes skate, or even have a uniform. In extreme weather or holidays, they get even larger tips from me.

A proper tip is usually 15% of the total bill, but Usually you don't tip at fast food places, since they don't seat you, come out with a menu, and wait on you.... more like you wait on them... for the food at least.

tipping at a fast food resturant or any resturant is based on good service the waiter and waitress already knows this. if any waiter or waitress provides good service to you, you should be considered enough to tlip them their lively hood depends on it.

i dont tip at any fast food place.

by the way:

"there" denotes a place. "Chuck is standing over there." "I've been there before."

"their" denotes possession. "I've tried their milkshakes, and they weren't that good." "Gold and purple are their school colors."

"they're" is a contraction between "they" and "are." "They're going to the dance together." "I think they're having the party on thursday."

"Jimmy and Suzy? They're going to their prom, over there at the stadium."

good luck.

this is my rule of thumb...

if you have to pay for the food before you get it (e.g., fast food restaurants), you don't tip. if you get the food before you pay for it (e.g., sit-down restaurants), you tip.
