I need to find some way to make $15-19 grand so 40-48 band kids can have a trip at the end of the year. How do I do that?

at the end of THIS year? thats tough.
The band is going to need to help you raise this kind of fundage..
Car Wash - $1,000 maybe
Raffle off a nice item ($150-$500 cost- x-box,ps2, shotgun if in hunting town, weekend getaway, etc..) ... sell as many raffle tickets as you can for a month or two for a buck or two. Get all the band members to sell 300 tix for a buck and that is around 12,000 or 24,000 at 2 bucks.

Do all of the following:
Go to the local business, explain you situation and ask for donations.
Organize the kids to do a car wash on a particular saturday, advertise it on posters so the community gets involved.
Buy a nice prize and do a raffle.
