You know.. this is something that you have to ask yourself. People can give you their opinion, just like I am about to do, but not until you decide what skills you have, or what you consider to be good or bad, you cant be certain.
I joined amway, ages ago. All I ever did was waste my money, buying the kit that they make you buy. I dont have the heart and skills and all other traits of a sales person, so I didnt even start my business.
On the other hand, the trick that they use to get you... the products are more expensive, but they last longer than the rest of average products out there in the market, therefore being cheaper in the long run.
I dont know about you, but i couldnt convince even my parents to buy a toothpaste 3 times more expensive than the one we used, just because it was going to last longer...it just didnt happen.
If you are one of those persons that can sell a pair of reading glasses to a blind person... go ahead.. good luck!

Is Amway a good business? If you ask a broke person who works at a local grocery store they probably don t know much about business, if Robert Keyosaki is in Amway, John Sestina the top financial planner in America, and Donald Trump all give it a thumbs up I would say umm YEAH! Don t ask a homeless person how to get rich! go to a millionaire and ask them? For those who are in any other MLM I dare you to find the top 10-100 Distributors against the same in Amway and compare lifestyles! You will see when you build Amway business with proper structure you build it once! Word of advice if someone says they know Amway and don t think its a good company ask them to show you the 6-4-2 sales and marketing plan... bet they can t bet they have no clue what you are talking about! instead check Forbes, DSA, FTC, AG and so on think they know business better than doctor, or even most professionals Its exactly like a fitness gym, if all you do is buy the membership you wont get fit! There s a system to building muscle and fitness all aspects need to be followed in order to get good results

Anyone who answered with, "Amway is.... but try this company instead" instantly loses credibility in my opinion because they are not answering the question. They are providing any one of a number of generic answers so that they can segue into plugging another business. I'm not saying that other business is bad. I'm just saying that they aren't answering the original question correctly.

Amway is what you make of it. Those who are in it and those who have been in it will tell you that you have to work to make money. Is it for everyone? Absolutely not. Amway does not try to rip you off. As a matter of fact Amway is the only system that I have ever heard of offering a 6 month guarantee on their products and a 3 month guarantee on starting a business distributing their products.

So, in order to lose money running a business distributing Amway products means that you do not know how to run a business. That means you did not learn from the multitude of resources that they offer to help you learn to run a business. As for people complaining that they got taken for a ride on the starter kit... I propose the question of how much does 1 semester of college cost? Better still one class? I'll go further, one credit? How about 1 college text book? Then, at the end of 3 months of taking a class ask that college for your money back. All of this is done to educate yourself how to perform in whatever industry you choose.

In the end Amway is neither good nor bad. Amway is just a source of products, network of people, and an accepted education system on selling and building a business. The good/bad comes from what you put into it and how that directly relates to what you expect from it. The less you put in and more you expect the "worse" it will appear. However, is that Amway's fault?

It's like any other business in that if you want to get any income from it, you're going to have to work your butt off.

Think about it - if amway really was cranking out tons of money for people while they sat back and did nothing but cash checks, you'd see amway dealers driving big cars everywhere. How many do you see in your neighborhood?

Another thing - in the 90's, I was told that amway was signing up over a million new dealers/reps a year, yet they were barely netting an increase in dealers from one year to the next, because so many were dropping out.

I'm sure that there are a few people who made a good amount of money doing this, but they were early joiners who built downlines galore. I doubt that there are very many who are doing this well now.

I have few people in my family why achieve a lot in network marketing! It worked, but it's not easy to start. But looking at their lifestyle today - it was worth it!!!

The comments of these relatives of mine is that vitamins and supplement and general grocery (I think that is what AMWAY is going) is the hardest of all network marketing businesses. It used to be the best option in 80's. But today it's too big competition. And commissions are low here.

My folks were in vitamin business as well and now they changed to this company (they still have a reasonable income from the vitamins) http://www.VMstreamline.com

I personally would never get involved with vitamins etc. for any money in the worked. But I seriously considering this one. It's the future!

Mrsgillen, that is completely false, in fact it is against Quixtar (Amway in the US) rules to buy stuff and stock it. You have likely been misled by a competitor!
Amway is the world's largest network marketing company, operating in more than 90 countries and territories and with sales exceeding US$6.4billion dollars. It's parent company, Alticor, is the 25th largest private company in the United States. Last year Amway and Quixtar (Amway in the US) paid out more than $2 billion to Independent Business Owners, and in the last 40 years more than 4000 people around the world have qualified at the Diamond level and above, with average incomes of $150K/yr and higher. The products are excellent, with brands such as Nutrilite the #1 selling nutritional supplement brand in the world, used and promoted by Asafa Powell, the world 100m record holder, Artistry, one of the top 5 best selling prestige cosmetics brands, eSpring, the best home water treatment system in the world, and many many others. While it takes time and effort to build an Amway business, many of those who do so develop a passive income stream that can, and has, last generations

as a business major college student, i joined amway couple months ago because i finally understood it. it is a really good opportunity to let me gain some real work experience and earn some extra passive income .. amway give ppl a stage to perform themselves and there are already lots of good products to let u sell with only few amount of money investment, just that 62 dollars to register an IBO. on the other hand, direct selling may make ppl feel sick and thats why everyones saying amway sucks and the ppl who do amway will lose all their friends. i dont think that way cuz it is avoidable. you dont have to sell to your friends but can do it more professionally to sell it to the real market, the stranger market. amway always says there is no any requirement that stops you joining amway. No, i dont think this way either. becuase if you tell a random friend to open a IBO account and that person has none passion to chase his personal goal, dont tell him, it will waste your time and may really lose this friend. some friends only allow to play with, only a small portion of friends can really fight for the dream with you. overall, if you wanna make money in this business, you must trust in it first. A 500-dollar passive income can already give u a Benz. and i see those IBOs who have been doing amway business for 6 to 7 yrs they are already driving two Benz cars and living in big houses. if you still dont trust it, compare them with yourself

with all my respect,, to all of u that talk bad about amway.. what is it with amway that make u say what u say? all other company like mary kay, avon, princess house, herbalife, melaleuca, and so on..just to name of few, they all work by getting ppl into the business.. without the network a business would not work.. think of walmart for example a lot of people go there everyday, and at least each individual spends $50 min. do the math .. only walmart is getting rich. amway gives the opportunity it depends on the individual who makes the best of it.. be smart and don't go with the flow...

Everyone I know who ever tried Amway business lost money and they even said they didn't even like the products. Now I have started with a company that has nothing to do with amway and has been around 21 years and has not changed it's name and , I have to prove they are not another A.K.A. name. It's not fair they shouldn't be allowed to change there name to excape the past.
