Could you add more details? Like what are you top 5 choices? You have to have some idea. Can you croon out Danny Boy? That one is a real tear jerker... and no one else will be singing it. I think there was a movie with Steve Martin where he sings that song (the one where he is an architect, I think). Also, I would advise less pop sound and more correct notes and emotion.

Just pick your favorite song that has a small range and that is pop! Because everyone has a favorite pop song!

I think you need to pick a song that you really like and one that you know extremely well. Remember it is a competition so it has to be something that you can sing well or it will not be a hit.

you should choose something that you feel comfortable singing but you also need something which will make you stand out from the crowd, dont choose a song which is too popular but dont choose something which no one has ever heard of.
