I took the morning after pill 3 weeks ago and stupidly carried on having unprotected sex with my partner up until last weekend. Could I be pregnant? And if so, how likely is it? Another thing is that I suffer from extremely irregular periods, not sure if that's relevant.

Yes it is likely. I had a miscarriage at 4 weeks and got pregnant 2 weeks later.

Yes, you could indeed be pregnant. The only sure method of not getting pregnant is by abstaining altogether. Ovulation takes place 14 days after the first day of your last period. In your case due to the fact that your periods are irregular you will not know when you are due to ovulate, thus you also have no clue as to when your next period is due. If I were you I would go and get a pregnancy test in order to establish whether you are pregnant or not. I would also sort out some form of birth control for yourself or your partner as you must be very stressed about all this and it is not necessary

Yes!!! The morning after pill only protects you from the intercourse you had before taking the pill, and only if your body wasn't pregnant in the first place. Having unprotected sex for 2-3 weeks makes it very likely that you could be pregnant. Take a pregnancy test in a few weeks. Until then, use condoms!!!!

i'm sorry to say this because i dont know but i cant believe you have been so irresponsible to continue having unprotected sex when you have already had a scare and obviously arent ready to have a child and yes you can still become pregnant. maybe you should go see your gp or family planning centre and get yourself some kind of protection and it would be a good idea to get someone to explain the birds and bees to you and that you dont have sex again until you understand what can happen. if you're not old or wise enough to know and understand the risks then you sure are'nt old enough to be having sex in the first place

Yes, you completely defeated the object of taking the morning after pill. You could have a higher chance as the hormones in the pill are likely to have effected your own hormones which could've caused you to ovulate sooner than normal. Wait until your period is due then take a test.

Very likely, sorry, but the morning after pill does not last for 3 weeks it is most effective if taken ASAP after unprotected sex.

Oh, My dear! be careful to your health please! If it's your lucky stars you can became pregnant from a wind; and you are having unprotected sex. The most dangerous time is any time so get the pregnancy test. Morning after pill doesn't protect you from getting pregnant in the future, it's working for up to 72 hours past...

Did you do this because you were behaving "stupidly," as you say, or because part of you wants to get pregnant?

It doesn't sound like you are trying to prevent pregnancy, and three weeks of unprotected sex is the surest way I know of to get pregnant. Its hard to say "how likely" it is that you got pregnant, since you don't give your age. But the younger you are, the more fertile you are. So teenagers and twenty-somethings are far far far more likely to get knocked up in any given month than a forty-year old.

I suggest some examination of your own motives as to why you are trying to get pregnant. And a visit to Planned Parenthood for some regular birth control (there are patches, pills, rings, injections, IUDS, diaphragms, etc.) and a pregnancy test.

You pay based only on what you can afford, and they have all kinds of birth control available. Time to get smart!

Morning after pill is really just a large quick dose of normal birth control pills. It must be taken within 24-48 hours after sex. it will NOT protect you next time you have sex. If you want protection use a CONDOM and buy birth control tablets.

the morning after pill is not one hundred percent effective at the time of taking it for a suspected pregnancy and the effectiveness of the pill falls with every hour that passes. it has NO effect on being a contraceptive at all only a final measure after the event.
