Babies are very resilient. Their skulls are not completely fused together and softer than an adults. This allows not only for they baby to fit through your pelvis during birth, but is also God's way for helping babies to better withstand the inevitable falls while learning to roll, crawl, and walk.

That said, is your baby acting differently? Is she sleeping more? Does she has a lump or depressed area on her head. Is it bruised? Is she more irritable (crying more often?) If no, she is probably fine.

Your best bet is to call her pediatrician and tell them exactly what happened. They will ask you some of the same questions I posed here and probably more. Based on those answers they will know if she should be brought in for further examination.

You should maybe take her to the Dr. They say that if a child hits their head and you think that it was hard enough to warrant a bump, but they don't get a bump, it can lead to concussion/brain trauma. If there is an outward bump, this is good, because room was made to accomodate the pressure. Clearly, if she is showing signs of abnormal activity for her, you should definately have her checked out, all kids, from the time they start rolling around, hit their heads. It is your call as to what you feel is cause for alarm. If you are scared or worried, there's no harm in getting her checked out. Good Luck.

Little kids are highly resistant when it comes to things they inflict upon themselves, but I do agree that if you are concerned, you shouldn't be waiting several days and then asking a community that'll easily take a week (or more) to resolve. If you think something could be wrong, don't be stingy and just take the child to the doctor. Peace of mind now is better than discovering damage was done later.

Has she been acting any differently than normal or sleeping more often? If not, she is probably fine. Kids are more resiliant than we often think and this will not be her last injury. However, the safest thing to do is to get her looked over by her pediatrician. And in the future, make sure you supervise her closely and don't let her play on beds, or other areas from which she could fall.

was the floor that she fell onto carpeted? Is she showing any strange signs of injury? vomitting? You could ask your doctor to order a scan if you are really concerned but without any symptoms, the risk of exposure to radiation from a scan is probably worse for the baby. Ask the doc.

Sorry, but you should have taken her right to the emergency room immediatly. Why on earth would you wait and be asking that crazy question on here now!? She could have brain bleeding or anything. Sometimes it even takes days to show symptoms but they could have known right away! TAKE HER IN! wow, some parents

Unless she is acting funny, she's probably fine. Kids are more resilliant than we think.

My son fell in the tub when he was about 14 months old and whacked his head on the edge... it made quite an egg, but he was fine shortly after the accident and was behaving normally so I diecided not to take him to to emergency room.

Get her into a docter right away and tell them you want a scan. Why the hell have you not done this already? Where the hell where you when she fell.
