Im making a "why I love chemistry" Poster for school for extra credit. It has to be about household safety and how chemistry plays into that. So I was wondering what kind of household safety you all think has alot to do with Chemistry. Thanks for your help, angie

Plastic bottles (rather than glass), insulation for electrical cables, rubber non-slip mats, coloured coatings for pills to avoid incorrect dosing, coloured lights to show electricals are on, sterilisation for baby bottles, disinfectants, emetics put in toxic solutions to prevent people drinking them, smells put in household gas supplies so you can detect leaks, antioxidants in food, cling film to cover food, .....

Cleaning supplies to kill germs/mold/virus.
Cooking of foods - chemical reactions in baking
Burning gas for heat or cooking.

Can't really think of many chemical reactions at home, it's mainly an electro-mechanical system.

theres a guy... something mandeleeve google him he made the periodic table the single with each and every of the little chemicle letters in case you do something about that your instructor will be inspired
