While looking through questions earlier I noticed one about Christopher Columbus. The question was what would make a good Columbus Day gift? There were some benign answers but there were also some that were (while funny) thought provoking. One answer was give the land back to those who were here first.
OK- let's do it. Lets give the land back to native Americans.... now what? Where do we go if we don't belong here?
Manifest Destiny may not have been the greatest excuse to take the land for the growth of the U.S. but when I look around at the spectre of Indian Gaming Casinos all I can think is.... They have certainly 'stuck' it to the people!
So if we gave the land back... where would YOU go?

So no one gets the wrong idea-- I am 1/8 Canadian Canuck- so don't say I'm Indian bashing please.
I love this article. The author points out that Indians get $15,000 a month from the gov't. and then later refers to them as being in poverty. They make more in 2 months for nothing than I do in a YEAR! Whose in poverty here?

I would stay right here since the land is bought and payed for anyway! I believe that the Indians would not stoop as low as our forefathers did! I have Indian friends that are pure blood and they don't mind me living where I do, so in conclusion everyone thinks differently just like the different races of Indians do!

Thank you!

I have Chippewa heritage, so I'd stay. :) There are probably MANY people in the US that have some Native American blood (and black, and hispanic, and European...) Americans are so mixed up.

i do not think we should give it back. but we sure should do a great deal to help them. they should live as they wish, and we all should stand up for them now. they should not need for homes.
