FOIL is for multiplying binomials. (x-5)(x+3) = x^2 +3x -5x -15 = x^2 -2x-15. Not factoring.

Start by taking x out as the common factor.
x(x^2-x-6). Then you can factor into binomials
x(x-3)(x+2)

For the other one, your common factor is 4.
4(x^2+x-2)
4(x+2)(x-1)
