Okay, so my E Drive, the one that burns music CDs for some reason is not opening so that I can insert a disk into it. Anyone have any ideas? Do I have to bring it to a repair shop or can it be solve easily?

Sorry I can't be more specific. I don't really know a lot about computer terminology.

It is possible that the cables connecting the drive are not working properly. If you can open your computer, take out the cables and reinsert them. (I pre suppose you know the precautions to be taken before opening a computer)

I've had that happen before. Usually just rebooting cures the problem. If not you can replace it yourself easily and for far less than the shop. The process is basically this:
Removal:
1) Powerdown and unhook all cables from computer.
2) Open up computer case (instructions are in the owner's manual).
3) Unplug the wiring at the back of the drive and then remove screws from mounting brackets.
4) Slide drive out of mount.
Installation is just the reverse of removal.

A handy tip if you have a CD get stuck or the computer is powered off and you don't feel like booting it back up...
Get yourself a jumbo paperclip and unfold it, leave the "small" end folded for a handle. You will see tiny hole on the front of the drive. Stick the paperclip in the hole as straight as possible. The door should crack open just a little bit, then carefully pull the tray out. This will allow you to remove your CD.

Press the Eject button on the drive. Try the paperclip ejector hole if there is one there (that was a Mac innovation, from their original floppy drives).

If that does not work, reboot it into Safe Mode and eject it from there.

If THAT does not work, you probably have a driver issue.

If you hate problems like this, I recommend getting rid of Windows and use Linux, BSD unix or (best option of all) buy a Mac.

Many drives have a very small hole in the faceplate that will accept a straightened out paper clip. If yours has that hole, push the straightened paper clip into the hole and that should release the mechanism that's holding the disc tray locked. Good luck.

is the led light is on when you click on the button for tray open?

If not open your computer case and check the power cable, unplug and re-plug it, then try to open the tray again.

If the leg light is on but the tray doesnt open it has a mechanical problem, you should better to buy a new one.
