I opened an IM to a geocities site and now my email has vanished I can't access it how can I fix it?

I recently opened an IM from a friend that sent me to a geocities site, Now when I try to log on to my email I get a message saying email address and or password wrong how can I fix this

Go to Internet Explorer

On the main menu toolbar click Tools

a Menu will appear

Click Internet Options

A Menu will appear

Click the Programs Tab

Locate e-mail

Click the ∨ button

Select the internet Provider that provided you service for you E-Mail

Click apply then click OK.

Once the above has been satisfied and it still does not work.On your Main home page click Help. Locate password. You might have to re-enter your password.
